Why the Algarve?
One of Europe’s most effective early-season training environments.
We have been bringing athletes to the Algarve since 2010, and it remains one of the best places we know for an early-season training camp.
Warm conditions, quiet roads, reliable facilities, varied terrain and open space make it an excellent location for consistent training. But what makes this camp different is not just the location. It is the environment we create around the training.
You are not left to figure things out on your own. The week is structured, coached and supported so you can focus on training, recovery and learning. Sessions are grouped by ability, coaches are present throughout the week, and the training is designed to meet athletes where they are.
The result is a camp that feels focused, supportive and personal, not generic.

Is this camp right for you?
This camp is ideal if you:
- Want to train properly in a focused environment
- Want coaching support, not just a training plan
- Want to improve confidence across swim, bike and run
- Value individual feedback and coach interaction
- Want coaching support, not just a training plan
- Want a camp that feels supportive rather than intimidating
- Like the idea of being looked after so you can focus on training
You do not need to be elite to benefit from this camp. You just need to want to train well, learn, and make the most of the week.
We regularly support athletes with very different goals and abilities — from newer triathletes building confidence to experienced athletes preparing for major events.
How the camp works
Coached sessions throughout — not self-guided training
Grouped by ability — ride, swim and run with athletes at a suitable level
Flexible volume — adjust the week around your fitness, fatigue and goals
Coach presence all week — support before, during and after sessions
Feedback and learning — not just training volume
Fully supported environment — food, logistics and structure taken care of
The camp is designed so you can train hard enough to make progress, while still getting enough support to stay in control.
What you’ll get from the week
- Structured coaching every day — not just self-guided training.
- Small training groups so sessions can match your level and goals.
- Coach support throughout the week — before, during and after sessions.
- Practical feedback you can take home across swim, bike, run and training structure.
- A fully supported environment where food, logistics and organisation are already handled.
- A welcoming camp atmosphere designed to help athletes feel comfortable, supported and motivated regardless of ability level.
The aim is not simply to train harder for a week.
The aim is to leave feeling clearer, more confident and better prepared for the season ahead.

General Overview
Our Algarve camp is based in Vilamoura, close to the marina, beach, cafés and training routes.
The Aquamar apartments are comfortable, spacious, and well-located. Each apartment is slightly different, but they all provide a relaxed base where athletes can train, recover and switch off between sessions.
The apartments have access to a small pool and a relaxing area. They are also a few minutes from the famous Falesia beach and near several of the world-famous Portuguese coffee shops. This is a special place situated in the heart of the Golden Triangle of the Algarve. How the Accommodation Works
We sell each apartment as a private unit for your booking.
That means you can:
Book a one-bedroom apartment for yourself
Share with a partner or friend
Bring family members
Fill a two-bedroom or three-bedroom apartment to reduce the per-person cost
This is one of the best ways to make the camp a better value.
A private one-bedroom apartment is the premium option. Sharing a larger apartment can significantly reduce accommodation costs per person while still maintaining the full camp experience.
Bringing Family or Partners
You are welcome to bring a partner or family members.
They do not need to join the training. Non-training adults can be added at a reduced rate, and non-training children can often stay free or at a heavily reduced rate, depending on the apartment and booking.
This makes the camp a strong option for athletes who want to train properly without leaving family behind.
More about the rooms
The apartments are fully furnished and very comfortable. Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, and dishwasher are all standard. Each apartment is different, but most have a bedroom with its own bathroom and towels, and all have a sizeable living room with an outdoor balcony.
Staying Elsewhere
You can also organise your own accommodation and book the coaching-only camp option.
If you choose this route, food and transfers are not included unless agreed separately.

Food that supports the week, without you having to think about it.
One of the most talked-about parts of the Algarve camp is the food.
Rather than eating from a hotel buffet every night your apartments are fully stocked and topped up through the week by our catering team: Scott and Lynn.
The aim is simple: you should be able to train, recover and eat well without having to make constant decisions about shopping, cooking or fuelling.
Breakfast supplies, snacks, and evening meals are organised around the week's training demands.
For many guests, the magic of returning home and finding the apartments re-stocked and home-comfort style dinner waiting to be thrown into the oven is one of the highlights of their camps!
The apartments are your home, so the meals are not cooked for you, but you can create your first, second and third breakfasts at will from the supplies in the kitchen. Your evening meal and various recovery snacks throughout the week will be prepared for you too.
Scott and Lynn are more than happy to provide any meals for any dietary requirements. If you aren’t sure, please just message us. They have huge experience both in athlete portion sizes as well as specifics for diets.
They have also worked closely alongside our sports nutritionist to ensure that the meals are appropriate for the training sessions in the week too meaning, all you need to do is eat!
We aim to do one social BBQ throughout the week and one meal out on a Wednesday as part of the team.
If you want more information about our catering approach, check out this helpful video.
Specialist Dietary Requirements
We can support dietary requirements and preferences. Please let us know in advance so we can plan properly.
Scott and Lynn have extensive experience supporting athletes and regularly help with food choices, portion sizes and practical fuelling across the week.

General Overview
This is a coach-led training camp.
The aim is not simply to do more training. The aim is to help you train better.
Across the week, you will complete a mix of swim, bike and run sessions designed to build fitness, develop technique and improve confidence. The sessions are structured, but flexible enough to adapt to your level, goals and fatigue.
The winter camp places more emphasis on technique, testing and early-season development.
The spring camp includes more race-season preparation, intensity and execution work.
Suggested Ability Level
This camp is suitable for all abilities.
Because of our coaching structure and group management, we can support athletes with very different speeds and goals within the same camp. You do not need to be chasing qualifications or podiums to benefit.
The camp is best suited to athletes who want to learn, train well and be part of a supportive environment.

– Video Feedback
– Running track and threshold testing

What athletes say after the Algarve camp
Keep the existing testimonials, but consider adding this short intro before them:
Athletes often arrive expecting a good training week. What they remember is the support, the food, the atmosphere, the coaching conversations, and the confidence they take home.
“Attending the training camp in Portugal with TTH was an amazing experience. The week was well planned and well supported with consideration taken for your strengths, weaknesses and what your goals are. I had a great time and learnt so much about my form and abilities which I will take away and continue to apply going forward in my training. I also met some great, like-minded individuals and friends from the trip. Honestly recommend this for anyone who wants to have a week of training to support your goals going forward. Plus the food was fab!!!”
“The coaches were amazing, knowledgeable and always around if you needed advice.
I loved it and met great people and also being in Portugal was the icing on the cake. I feel fitter and more confident with my training going forward!”
“5 stars. You start the week with an assessment of your technique, form and threshold and throughout the week focuses on building on where you can get maximum gains as an athlete.”
“Another incredible training camp in the Algarve with TTH this year, a fantastic experience for new and more seasoned athletes of all abilities under the guidance of excellent coaches, and of course in a fantastic setting.
I can’t recommend the TTH community highly enough, great atmosphere around the camp and a really inclusive environment. We laughed harder than we trained, which is some feat!
Massive thanks to the coaches, chefs, and of course the athletes for an epic week
No doubt I’ll be back for more next year!”
“Have just got back from the Algarve camp and had an incredible time. The location, accommodation and catering were amazing start to finish - special thanks to Scott and Lynn for the food! The coaching staff were all so helpful and knowledgeable and made the week fun while getting some great training done. Would highly recommend whether starting your triathlon career or a seasoned athlete. Will definitely be back.”
