Join us in the French Alps at the base of Alpe d’Huez for a week of triathlon training in the mountains.

The training week will be a tough week taking advantage of the stunning training arena that the alps have to offer. We have some of the classic climbs including the 21 bends up to Alpe D’Huez on our doorstep along with the the beautiful trails and excellent swimming facilities.

We will use the higher altitude of the Alps to improve our ability to generate more red blood cells, while recovering in the lower Bourg D’Oisans valley. There will be altitude sessions in biking, running and (weather permitting) swimming. Furthermore, there will be key, specific workouts designed to give you that mid season boost.

Coaching will be conducted with Take3 Triathlon Coaching, experts in video analysis and technique, so there will be a healthy balance of conditioning and technical improvement during the camp.

Location

Bourg D’Oisans is the ideal base for cycling up Alpe D’Huez, being only two minutes ride from the bottom of the legendary Tour de France climb.  With other Tour greats on our doorstep such as the Col Du Galibier, Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, & many others within cycling distance, it makes Bourg D’Oisons the ideal base for cycling in the Alps.

The valley base means that you will always end your ride with a downhill…no small advantage given the size of the climbs. The Oisans area is also known as the 6 valleys  - with all the climbs on offer there is no need for transfers - we will have it all on our doorstep.

Bourg d’Oisans, home of La Marmotte, is the main town in the region is less than 2km away, and offers cafes, restaurants, and also a large number of bike shops!


Accommodation

The large house (239 sq.m plus double garage) has a spacious lounge and dining area, plus 70sq.m outdoor deck with spa (giving you a great view of the mountains, of course!), plus UK TV, wifi / internet, and home cinema (projection onto 2.2m equivalent screen). There is secure bike storage, work stand, tools and track pumps available.

All bedrooms are ensuite, with three double / twin rooms, as well as two larger family rooms which sleeps up to three adults or four as a family.  

Breakfast will be a selection of home baked croissants & pain au chocolat, bio yoghurts (made in house), a range of cereals, home made muesli, porridge, fresh bread and home made jams as well as ham, cheese, orange juice, tea and coffee.  Our aim is to ensure that you are well fuelled and ready for the day!

For those wishing to travel with a non-training friend or partner, the location is perfect for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors but with a lower level of effort than some of our sessions! So do please bring them along!

The focus of this camp is high-precision training, with sessions designed to either build more strength or extend your endurance with sessions that you might shy away from if you were on your own! The coaching team have put together a gruelling training package which should challenge even the best athletes while encourage those who are wanting to take their first step into this type of training.
